The second annual Lake Appreciation Day at the Ridgway Reservoir will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010. Activities are planned from 10:00a-4:00p at Dutch Charlie Beach in the Ridgway State Park. Last year the park saw its largest event attendance with this celebration, and we plan to top that! Bring your family and friends for a day on the beach, and participate in free fly-fishing lessons and boat tours of the reservoir. Concession stands will offer favorite summer treats & refreshments.
This day will also announce the winner of this year’s Poster Contest. Enter by July 9, 2010, a creative poster that answers the question: Why is Water So Important?. Winning entries will be showcased at the Cimarron Bookstore Coffeehouse in downtown Ridgway, and one grand prize will be published in the Western Hardrock Watershed Team 2011 Calender.
